From video notes to an interactive video layer.

How three founders turned a note-taking tool into the interactive, AI-powered layer for LMS video.

A start in the Rhein-Main ecosystem

Founded by Maksym Kovalenko, Ivan Darmograi, and Kyrylo Mandrychenko, MaltaX gained early traction in the Rhein-Main startup ecosystem. In January 2025, the company secured a runner-up spot at the inaugural LAUNCH Rhein-Main Demo Day, which included a coaching opportunity with Earlybird-X partner Stephan Rauscher.

From notes to an interactive layer

During their time in FUTURY's Product School, the team focused on product development and collaborated with industry stakeholders. This led to a pilot with EdEra, a major Ukrainian EdTech company, validating their initial concept. The following year, MaltaX evolved its product from a tool for time-coded video notes into an interactive, AI-powered video layer — one that embeds directly into existing LMS to track and measure student engagement.

Partnerships and a first pre-seed grant

By the end of the year, MaltaX had partnered with established EdTech companies and was selected for the Startup Edge Program — an initiative run by the Ukrainian Startup Fund in partnership with the European Union and the French government. Through this program, the company secured its first pre-seed grant of €10,000.

That's the MaltaX story so far.
